Leonberger Club of Great Britain – Rescue & Welfare
LCGB Rescue and Welfare is set up to provide advice on behavioural issues and rehoming if needed for your Leonberger.
Our Welfare Team consists of Julie Jones, Julie Haigh and Rachel Robinson who have been involved with the breed for many years and as such understand how difficult it can be to make the decision to rehome your Leo. As a Team we are here to help and discuss your situation in a strictly confidential manner.
If you decide that you need to re-home your Leonberger, then we will need for you to complete a Dog Details Form (see below) giving us all the information about your dogs behaviour (warts and all) … this will help us find the next suitable forever home.
If you wish to rehome a Leonberger then you can contact us for a Rehoming Questionnaire to be completed and returned to us.
You can be assured that all potential new owners homes will be vetted and home checked by someone experienced in the breed. Every Leonberger that is re-homed through us will have detailed signed paperwork as per the Kennel Clubs Breed Rescue Charter (see below) which we abide by with full transparency.
On placement of a Leonberger we do invite new owners to contribute a suitable donation that is then absorbed back into the Welfare Fund to help us continue to cover costs of helping Leos in the future. All donations/monies are fully accounted for and recorded by our Treasurer in our yearly Welfare Report.
